Searching for a newborn photographer can be challenging. I want to assure you that not only am I trained in newborn safety during the photo shoot, but as a mother of three, I have the experience to handle your baby safely and gently. Newborn photography requires not only photographic talent and technical know-how, but also skill, care and patience to ensure a relaxing session for the baby and you as a parent. You can trust me to provide a relaxing experience and wonderful photos. In my studio I create ideal conditions for your baby's well-being. During the newborn photo shoot, we maintain a comfortable temperature of 26 degrees and offer a wide range of soft and cute clothes for your baby. The schedule for the newborn photo shoot is also designed so that there is enough time for breastfeeding your baby, because they sleep best when they are full and content.

When is the ideal time for a pregnancy photoshoot?

The optimal window for capturing stylish pregnancy photos is between 30-36 weeks. By then, your belly will have a beautiful roundness, perfect for showcasing those maternity curves, while you'll still feel comfortably mobile for a variety of poses.

How is maternity photography conducted?

Your baby bump photoshoot can take place either outdoors or in my Porto-based studio. We'll capture solo shots of you, as well as with your partner and the entire family—so feel free to bring along any other children you have! If you're feeling a bit camera-shy, no need to fret. I'll guide you through posing, utilize flattering lighting and angles, and even play some lively music to help you relax and enjoy the experience. You'll have access to a selection of gorgeous dresses and outfits, all provided at no extra cost. Prepare to feel like a goddess—I guarantee you'll look like a million dollars!

Are maternity gowns provided?

Yes, our studio offers a range of high-quality gowns and pregnancy outfits for your use. You can explore our maternity gown collection here.

When should I schedule my maternity photoshoot?

It's advisable to book your session in advance—ideally a couple of weeks before your desired date. Consider reaching out around your 28th week of pregnancy. We can then discuss your preferences for the photoshoot and ensure you're fully prepared for the big day. Booking early increases the likelihood of securing your preferred date.

How long does it take to receive the final photographs?

Following the photoshoot, I'll perform basic retouching on the images. Within two weeks, the photos will be uploaded to an online gallery with a watermark. You'll have a two-week window to review and select your favorites from the comfort of your home. If you exceed the included number of photos in your package, additional images can be purchased or you can upgrade your package. Once you've made your selections and completed payment, a comprehensive retouching process will commence. After two weeks, you'll be able to download your high-resolution photos from another online gallery. Printed copies will be dispatched three weeks after receiving the digital photographs.

Can we obtain unedited photographs?

I don't offer the sale or distribution of unedited photographs or RAW files. Due to limited data storage space, any unpurchased photographs will be deleted.

When is the best time for the newborn photo shoot?

Your precious newborn is so tiny and delicate. It just seems too small for any adventure. It may come as a surprise, but the second week of a baby's life is the perfect time for the newborn photo shoot. Your baby will be a real sleepyhead and will most likely not notice anything out of the ordinary happening around them because they will oversleep during their newborn session. This is perfect! We don't want to bother him with this. And don't worry about your baby's acne or peeling skin. This is normal at this very young age. I'll take care of this while I'm post-processing your baby photos.

How is newborn photography done?

We keep your little one warm, give him time to eat and let him fall into a restful baby sleep. I will position him in natural poses that resemble his position in the womb. I will treat your baby in the gentlest way possible so that he feels comfortable and peaceful at all times. We usually start by photographing your baby alone, then we take some photos of the parents holding the baby, the whole family, and the siblings with their newborn sister or brother.

When should I book my newborn photo shoot?

We have limited space for newborn photo shoots. For this reason, it is very important that you contact me before your baby is born. If you would like to book a newborn photo shoot with me, please indicate your expected due date. I'll put it on my calendar. After the birth (preferably a few days after the birth) please contact me again. We will then agree on the exact date of the meeting. But if your baby is already here, do not hesitate to contact me, we will still try to find a place for your family.

How long does it take for the photos to be delivered?

After the photo session, the images are retouched within two weeks and uploaded to an online gallery. They will be watermarked for viewing. The gallery is accessible for two weeks, allowing you to select photos from the comfort of your own home. If you would like to select more photos than are included in your package, you can purchase additional images or upgrade. Once you've made your selection and completed payment, a final touch-up will be performed and your high-resolution photos will be available for download in another online gallery in two weeks. The prints will be sent to you three weeks after you receive the digital photos.

Can we buy unedited photos?

I do not sell or give away the unedited photos or RAW files. Since my storage space is limited, all photos that have not been purchased will be deleted.

I therefore recommend that you reserve early, ideally a few weeks in advance for your desired date. I am confident that we can find a suitable date. I come from Gdańsk, Poland, lived in Berlin for 15 years and have been living in Porto since 2022. I am a mother of three beautiful children and the wife of a handsome Portuguese. We speak four languages at home (portuguese, polish, english, and german). I have been a digital photo retoucher since 2008, alongsite my scientific career in Biology. Since 2018, I am a full-time photographer and owner of Kleiner Sternli Fotografie. I specialized in newborn, maternity and family photography. I participated in a number of international workshops and trainings in the field of newborn photography and the use of light in photography. I was constantly educating myself in the art of photography, processing and session planning. Meeting with families and their children during newborn photo sessions is a unique experience that is different every time. It is an amazing privilege for me to be able to document moments such as waiting for a new family member or the first days of parenthood. - Explore my collection of maternity dresses and share your preferences with me. You can also list any other specific desires you have for the photo shoot.

- Arrange to have your hair styled by a professional before the photo shoot.

- Have your makeup professionally done by a makeup artist.

- Aim to get sufficient rest the day before the photoshoot.

- Stay hydrated to achieve a radiant complexion.

- Enjoy a nutritious breakfast to energize yourself for the photo shoot.

- Remember to bring makeup and a hairbrush to the photo shoot.

Clothing:

- Opt for clothes that resist wrinkling.
